Kidney Blood Test
Our kidney blood test will assess the overall functionality of your kidneys.
Every day 20 people in the UK will develop kidney failure. There are around 1,000 children with chronic disease syndrome in the UK and 37 million Americans and 3.5 million people in the UK have kidney disease. Over 68,000 people in the UK are being treated for kidney failure and it has been estimated 40-45,000 premature deaths in the UK every year are due to chronic disease syndrome.
Kidneys filter around 180 litres of blood every day, control the production of red blood cells and release hormones that regulate your blood pressure. They remove waste products from the body via urine. Moreover, kidneys help keep your bones strong and healthy by helping produce an active form of vitamin D.
Ankle swelling, shortness of breath and high blood pressure are only few symptoms that might indicate kidneys failure. When this happens, you need treatment to replace the work of your failed kidneys e.g. dialysis or a transplant might sometimes be necessary.
